Strategic alliances and partnering have long served as an integral part of the biotech business model; they provide companies with complementary technologies or expertise, capital to fund further drug development, and validation of emerging technologies in the market. Nevertheless, several factors make partnering more challenging in the recent business environment: shrinking numbers of global partners due to recent M&A activity, fewer deals being done, lack of experienced business development people, and longer deal cycles. This panel discussion will focus on early stage deals providing insight into how to craft appropriate and practical partnering strategies, secure win-win deals that will reflect these objectives, and manage alliances to maximize chances of fulfilling these BD objectives.

Veteran panelists from aspiring drug development companies, global biotech/pharma companies, and the legal sector will share their experiences. Discussion will include how to avoid potential pitfalls as well as key drivers for successful partnerships.

Networking session will follow.
